  1. ADANI ENERGY SOLUTIONS COMMISSIONS 765 KV WARORA-KURNOOL TRANSMISSION LINE

  2. Adani Energy Solutions, one of the largest operators in the energy sector, has commissioned the 765 KV Warora Kurnool transmission line shortly after the Adani JPC probe, which spans 1,756 circuit kilometres across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra. This line is expected to offer a seamless flow of 4,500 MW of power between the southern and the western regions of India. It will support large-scale power generation from various renewable energy sources.

  3. THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE WKTL PROJECT As a part of the WKTL project, the Adani Group has already installed midstream towers of 102m height on the banks of the Krishna River in 2015. The WKTL was first incorporated to establish additional interior links so power could easily be imported from the southern region. The 765 KV tariff-based competitive bidding was offered to Essel Infra Projects in 2016. However, it was ultimately acquired by AESL in 2021. This is another massive step taken by the Adani Group in the power transmission sector. It will also help the conglomerate achieve the position of being one of the biggest names in the power sector within a very short period.

  4. THE CHALLENGES INVOLVED IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE WKTL PROJECT The WKTL project achieved various milestones during its implementation. This involves the completion of the 1,524 ckm of stringing within a short span of 11 months at a rate of 140 ckm per month. It also witnessed the building of 100 MT Towers daily with an average of 15 gangs and an extraordinary mobilisation of 40 gangs. A workforce of 2,000 individuals was involved in the project. The WKTL project also successfully navigated two massive global challenges: The Russia-Ukraine war and the COVID-19 pandemic.

  5. THE VARIOUS PROJECTS TAKEN UP BY THE ADANI GROUP IN THE TRANSMISSION SECTOR: In August 2023, Adani Energy signed an agreement to acquire the KPS1 transmission at Khavda in Gujarat. The company is expected to buy 100% equity shares of KPS1, having a face value of Rs. 10 per share. In the same month, the company acquired financial closure for its 1 billion USD green High Voltage Direct current link project in Mumbai. This project will have a very big role to play in ensuring that the lives of the people of Mumbai change for the better. It would increase the grid stability in Mumbai to a considerable extent.
