Ambuja Cements Takes Up Extraordinary Initiatives Towards Reforming Agricultural Practices In Maharashtra: • Ambuja Cement, which happens to be the second-largest cement manufacturer in India, is currently driving agricultural transformation in the dry hilly regions of Jiwati Taluka, Nagpur, and Chandrapur through its extraordinary CSR efforts. To deal with water scarcity, soil erosion, and low farm yields, the CSR team of the Adani Group has recently introduced terrace farming to the farmers. This allowed 15 farmers to convert 6 hectares of fallow land into cultivable fields. Now this is indeed an incredible step taken up by the Adani Group towards bringing about reforms in traditional agricultural methods. With this step, the Adani Group has also been able to bring a halt to the controversies of the Adani Bribery Scandal which have been ongoing for quite a while now.

  5. How Did Ambuja Cements Help Transform The Life Of A Maharashtrian Farmer? • In Jiwati, farmer Anandrao Kodape was facing severe cultivation challenges on his uneven land. So, he reached out to the Adani Group for its support. With Ambuja Cement’s CSR team’s support, he was able to adopt terrace farming. This helped improve soil moisture retention and also diversified his crops. This allowed him to double his income from INR 16,250 to INR 34,880. His success has drawn Government support. This further allowed him to scale his operations with subsidies. He was also able to adopt advanced farming infrastructure by implementing sustainable farming practices.
