  1. Lecce status Marco Panareo Lecce – 27/06/2013

  2. Wiring robot parts procurements • Recycling parts from Mu2e prototype wiring robot: rotating axis, translation axis, torquemeter, e.m. friction, e.m. brake, digital microscope, monitoring system →done • New parts: winding drum →ordered • Wire trays transport system →design in progress • New mechanical supports →to be designed and machined

  3. Upgraded wiring robot Torque meter microscope Wire spool nose Torque meter Moving cart

  4. Wires • Order placed: • 6000m Al-Ag plated Ø 40µm (0.0016”) • 1500m Al-Ag plated Ø 50µm (0.0020”) • 1500m W-Au plated Ø 20µm (0.008”) • Delivery: End of September (unfortunately partial delivery not allowed)

  5. Mu2e prototype • Wiring: →completed • Front-end and HV cards supports: →completed • Gas envelope box: →in progress

  6. FE LE/BIMP • 2 stage gain FE • Distrete – Integrated • Full Integrated • Used on all the prototypes (Pi, Le, Rm) • L’impiego di un ulteriore stadio di guadagno è in fase di valutazione

  7. Mu2e prototype FrontEnd Cabling Sense wires alternatively : HRS FX2 Series Twisted flat cable 68 contacts (signals/power) power Signals/gnd Wire signals/power distribution

  8. Options for final DC FE • Differenti soluzioni per l’implementazione del FE sulla camera finale sono sotto studio • Kapton vs. FR4 substrate • Flat output cable vs. HDMI output cable • FE/HV card for both sides reading • Booster location • La decisione sulla configurazione finale avverrà entro la fine dell’anno anche sulla base delle valutazioni fatte attraverso il prototipo FL

  9. side B side A top view 165 240 Full length prototype • System design: →in progress • Wire board anchoring system: →conceptual design done • Wire boards: →to be designed • Spacers: →to be designed

  10. Drift velocity, diffusion and ionization yield measurements • Uniform E field (>1.2kV/cm) between plates • N2 laser generate a single electron between plates • Arrival times give precisedetermination of vdrift • Variance gives longitudinal diffusion • After that: Lateral diffusion, primary ionization • Gas leakage tests and HV test are in progress • Full working joulmeter optics target N2 laser Fast trigger PMT xy table control

  11. Impegnato 2013 • Meccanica 34.7k • Fili per prototipo 17.4k • Motore passo passo 2.5k • Tubo centrifugato 1.8k • Carropattino 2.9k • Tavolo per assemblaggio 2.0k • Torsiometro, frizione, freno 8.1k • Elettronica 3.4k • Pcb prototipi 1.6k • Componenti/cavi 1.8k

  12. Richieste 2013 - Wires • 40 μm Al wire: 2.66 US$/m • (1920 cells × 4 wires/cell) × 2 m/wire + 30% = 20,000 m or 60 spools × 333 m or 53,150 US$ • 50 μm Al wire: 3.50 US$/m • (1920 cells × 1 wire/cell+ 768 guard wires) × 2 m/wire + 30% = 7,000 m or 24 spools × 300 m or 25,200 US$ • 20 μm W wire: 0.88 US$/m • 1920 wires × 2 m/wire + 30% = 5,000 m or 17 spools × 300 m or 4,500 US$ • Total: 82,800 US$ × 0.8 €/US$ × 1.21 (IVA) + custom clearance and transportation (several partial deliveries) = 84 K€
