  3. Collaboration; Norms/Protocols Our PLC meetings are protected time. We address violations of our norms/protocols Essential Standards/Scope and Sequence We have identified the “essential” standards to allow deeper learning We have daily learning targets and closing tasks that stretch the rigor Common Assessments We, along with our students, know exactly what we are looking for in student demonstrations of understanding. We write our assessments at the beginning of the week (unit) based on #1 We have a goal for each assessment. If the outcome is below that goal, we provide additional Tier 1 instruction based on results. Additional Time and Support for Students We only accept high quality work and we each know the exact level of work we expect. Our students know that rarely does one’s best work come from the first attempt. Students are allowed multiple opportunities/revisions to demonstrate learning. We maximize every FLEX opportunity and take advantage of Extended Days. We replicate our most effective instruction during FLEX.

Data Analyzed/SMART Goal Created • Our data collection tool allows for quick feedback to students. • Every member has his/her data ready for every PLC meeting • We analyze individual classroom results to identify best practices that we replicate across the team. • We document best practices and have a written record of our discussions from the data • Our data analysis improves our team’s ability to achieve our SMART goal • Continuous Instructional Improvement through Common Point of View • We regularly plan lesson improvement through the Fundamental Five practices of effective instruction • We understand the synergy of the Fundamental Five and plan for daily implementation of all five • Powerzone – Of course • Lesson Frame – We are intentional about stretching the rigor • FSGPT – We use conversation to improve student understanding and retention and to increase the rigor • Recognize/Reinforce – We plan “look fors” (academic and behavior/effort) that we will recognize • Critical Writing – We plan for opportunities for students to make connections and/or communicate thoughts through writing.
