Simulation model
  • Central AuAu@200 GeVNN:HIJING.
  • pp@200 GeV: PYTHIA, MSEL=1, PTJet>10 GeV/c.
  • PISA withthe current VTX geometry in the CVS. Virtually no

other PHENIX detectors besides the VTX in the PHENIX

configuration. Magnetic field is OFF.

  • Analysis chain with the simplifiedgeneration of VTX signals

(Rawhits) from GEANT hits (Ghits): charge sharing is accounted

proportionally to the fraction of a track segment projection

length onto the pixel or strip area. No charge diffusionin the

sensor which will further increase(somewhat?) the occupancy,

particularly for the perpendicular particle crossings.

In the plots:

  • Column, from left to right= Barrel VTX layer
  • Upper row= x-strip or pixel channels
  • Lower row = u-strip channels
