  1. Key Club 9/28/12

  2. March of Dimes Bucket • Every general meeting, we will have the bucket out and you can throw in any change you have! • The money raised will be used towards March of Dimes, one of Kiwanis’ major projects • Educate about premature births and prevent them

  3. Registration • If you have not turn in your registration, please put it in the box at the end of the meeting. • If you have not received a calendar, we will be handing those out at the end of the meeting. • If you forgot your form or money, please turn it in Monday.

  4. Member Requirements • Have the required numbers of hours completed by each Hour deadline • Show up at the events that you signed up for • Let a board member know when you can’t make it to an event you signed up for – find a replacement • Attend all general meetings

  5. Three Strike Policy • After receiving 3 strikes, your membership will be revoked: • Ways to earn a strike: • Failing to find a replacement for an event you cannot attend • Failing to meet the required number of hours for a certain deadline • Continuously missing meeting without alerting a board member as to why • Poor meeting/club conduct

  6. First Hours Deadline • Friday, December 7th • 9 Total Hours Completed • Minimum of 5 Key Club Hours • Minimum of 4 Non – Key Club Hours • Summer Hours (maximum of 15) • You cannot use NHS hours for KC/Non – KC Hours • Fill out an event/hours sheet to submit hours • This will be turned in on December 7th at the meeting • It’s very important to keep track of your own hours!

  7. Ideas for Non – Key Club Hours • Minnesota Children’s Museum • See me if you’re interested • Woodbury Health Care Center (Nursing Home) • HealthEast Hospitals (Woodwinds, St. Joseph’s) • Library • Church Events • Mowing/raking your neighbor’s lawn, helping out at a daycare, etc. • As long as you’re serving others that is not through a KC event, count it!

Committees • Required to letter • Up to 15-20 people per committee • Blood Drive – Erica Chung • JDRF – Meg Graupmann • Scrapbook – Madison Lorenzo • Video – Ryan Garbe and Tyler Smith • Fundraiser – Ryan Garbe • Hope for the Journey Home – Patricia Maglalang • Bedtime Story Hotline * • Tutoring * • * indicates that a general member will head the committee, see me after the meeting if you’re interested. • Sign up on the board

  9. Representatives • Each grade will have a representative voted in as a part of the board • Help with decision making, run events, head committees • Attend board meetings on Friday mornings • Elections will be held at the next general meeting, Oct. 12th • If you’re interested, sign up on the board! • Have a short speech prepared as to why you’d be a good rep

Upcoming Events • Colby Lake Invasive Removal Event • Saturday, October 20th from 8:30am to 12:30 pm • Sign up on the board but you need to register online • Homecoming Parade • For people who signed up and who are interested in walking, please see Erica for details. • Hall of Fame Dinner • Today after the parade - see me if you’re interested • Keep checking the board for more events!
