Technology of a satellite • What is a satellite? • A satellite is a object that orbits a larger object, such as a planet. • They classify satellites into two categories: Passive Satellites and Active satellites. Launching a satellite • All satellites get into orbit by riding a rocket or by cargo bay of the space shuttle. • All rockets are scheduled launch rocket which is aimed straight up after it gets through the thickest part of the atmosphere the rocket uses the internal guidance system to calculate the adjustments in order to be in flight plan. http://science.howstuffworks.com/satellite2.htm
