  1. 7 Types of Lifting Equipment for Easy Cargo Handling Cargo Shipping

  2. Introduction Heavy goods and cargo need special lifting equipment to make their handling easier. The equipment used can be manual or automated mechanical equipment which protects the goods from damage, the goods will be easier to move and will save you manual cargo handling costs. In this article, we will introduce you to some of the most commonly used lifting equipment.

  3. Service Lifts Service lifts are light-duty lifts with load capacities ranging from 50 kg for micro lifts to 500 kg for custom-built trolley lifts. They can transport anything from large equipment to small goods. This equipment makes vertical lift of various cargo and goods easy. They are also used to support all kinds of businesses like retail shops, offices, restaurants, etc.

  4. Goods-Only Lift Goods-only lifts have a load capacity of up to 3000kg. They are used for heavier warehouse merchandise and materials in retail and industry. They can move heavy loads between two or more floors and in a stand-alone structure. They mostly come with bump rails, a ramp option and interlocked gates to limit the movement of cargo. In some such lifts, you can move two attendants along with the goods this will ensure the safety of the staff.

  5. Heavy-Duty Lifts For demanding environments such as infrastructure, airports, hospitals, and retail, heavy-duty lifts are ideal. As a result of their larger capacities and tougher finishes, these lifts can carry heavy machinery, hospital supplies, stage and scenery equipment, as well as cars and aeroplanes. Industrial shippers will use such equipment to make their material handling smooth and safe.

  6. Bucket Elevator The bucket elevator is used when you need to move and elevate free-flowing materials, it operates by being attached to an endless spliced loop of either belt or chain, which moves continuously. A bucket is loaded during a cycling movement and travels to a disposal location, returning to its never-ending cycle.

  7. Pallet Truck And Forklift Truck Pallet trucks are manual lifting devices with wheels that are used to lift and move pallets. Using the tapered forks beneath the pallet and the pump handle, the equipment can lift, move, and lower materials. The forklift truck is used to move pallets and heavy goods. Forklifts are used in warehouses, factories, industrial units, and construction sites because of their sturdy composition, size, and weight capabilities. It is possible to choose from a variety of electric forklifts depending on the weight of the goods and the type of business, but only trained employees can operate them.

  8. Lifting Hoists and Overhead Cranes Lifting hoists and overhead cranes are used in warehouses to horizontally move the goods. An overhead crane consists of parallel beams that are joined by a travelling bridge, and the hoist assists in lifting, moving and supporting the bridge.

  9. Belt Conveyors Belt conveyors are used to transporting a large volume of loads, boxes and materials effortlessly. This equipment allows the companies to easily ship and receive greater quantities with small warehouses and low labour expenses. They are the most versatile and simplest material handling system with two or more pulleys driving an endless loop belt.
