  2. eVMITrack --- Vendor Managed Inventory Application eVMITrack is a generic and flexible Vendor Managed Inventory application. The main features are : • Runs on a Pocket PC device (Symbol, Intermec and others) running Windows CE.Net or Windows Mobile OS. • Server side application has a middleware and it supports databases like MS ACCESS and SQL Server. This can be also interfaced with other databases such as Oracle, Sybase and DB2. • Central Database hosted by the vendor can support 100s of clients and each client could have 1000s of items that are managed by the vendor. Each client could define multiple warehouses or locations where the items are to be shipped. For each item, the minimum, maximum and target inventory levels can be defined. • When inventory counting is done, the reorder quantities are automatically computed and a new Order will be placed to the vendor. The system generates an email with the details like present quantity and ordered quantity of various items.

The server maintains a log file that keeps track of all the transactions that take place and all the activities are time stamped so that auditing can be done at a later point of time. • The Master Inventory table can be easily customized according to the needs of different clients. • This application can be easily integrated with the existing or legacy inventory management and other applications. The data from this application can be exported to other applications or imported from third party applications. XML or ASCII file based data transfer is also available. • Mobile devices communicate with the server through the Internet using dial up modem/DSL modem/Cable modem or WLAN. WWAN connectivity is also possible.
