5 Star Community Achiever Programme

The 5 Star Community Achiever Programme aims to uncover and develop talent in the community, specifically targeting age groups 6-13 years, 14-17 years, 19-23 years, seniors, and older. It identifies achievers at various levels, from local to international events, and provides opportunities for skill development and recognition. The programme is a collaboration between ASA Province, municipalities, sponsors, and clubs/schools.

  1. 5 STAR COMMUNITY ACHIEVER PROGRAMME MISSION To use the 5 Star Community Achiever Programme as a platform from where organized mass participation will be encouraged at Provincial, District and Municipal level, and in doing so, uncover and develop the talent which might have been overlooked or ignored in the past and develop them as role models in the community. OBJECTIVE The primary target group is the age group 6-13 years, 14-17 years, 19-23 years, seniors, and older. The objective is to identify 5 Star Achievers in the local Municipalities, districts, and provinces, level.

  2. 5-Star Achievers at International events IDENTIFYING THE 5 STAR COMMUNITY ACHIEVER 4-Star Achievers at continental and national events 3-Star Achievers at national events The milestones of the 5 Star Community Achiever Programme 2-Star Achievers at provincial level 1-Star Achievers at Talent ID Challenge (clubs, schools, etc) Life Skills / skills workshops

CONTRIBUTION OF PARTNERS • ASA Province will: • Host, in collaboration with its clubs, national, provincial and regional events • Organize in collaboration with its clubs projects that will develop the skills of the local community such as Coaching, Administration, Technical Officiating and Life Skills • Select and present in collaboration with its provinces,representative Teams for District, Provincial and National Champs Clubs and Schools provide human resources to participate in projects • Municipalities will provide facilities and equipment • Sponsors will: • Finance Community Achiever Programme • Use projects as marketing opportunities • Use projects as social upliftment and development programmes

  4. WORKING RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PARTNERS Municipalities provide facilities where projects will take place ASA province create opportunities to develop Community 5 STAR COMMUNITY ACHIEVER Sponsors provide financial support District Clubs & Schools provides human resources

NETWORKING AT GRASS ROOT LEVEL Farms and informal settlements in Municipal Borders The athletics club, as registered member of Boland Athletics,through affiliation will serve the community by operating within the borders of the Local Governments of the Province they are affiliated too Athletics Club Towns in the Municipal Borders Schools in Municipal District

NETWORKING AT PROVINCIAL LEVEL Clubs Coaches Technical Officials Volunteers Boland Athletics, as registered member of ASA, through direct affiliation to ASA, will serve the affiliated members by operating within the ASA provincial borders ASA Province Provincial Department Sport Associated members

NETWORKING AT NATIONAL LEVEL ASA as registered member of the IAAF and SASCOC, will serve the affiliated members by operating and networking primarily within the borders of South Africa, and secondary provide licensed members with a support structure beyond the borders of South Africa Provinces Coaches Technical Officials Volunteers Associated members IAAF, CAA, SASCOC & SRSA

ASA Champs • Objectives: • For Athletes to develop life skills for role modeling • For Athletes to gain experience of role modeling • To present role models to Officials, parents and public Recreational Mass participation Objectives: To host mass participation events on a weekly basis The host recreational events for the general public To bring fun back into the sport
