  1. Most Employees Leaving their Organization in Less Than 5 Years: Wisdomjob.com Study According to a survey piloted by wisdomjobs.com, more than 80% professionals stay in a single company for less than 5 years. A recent survey carried out by wisdomjobs.com demonstrates that less than 20% of employees stick to a single organization for more than five years. On the other hand, nearly 65% of the employees had tenure of two to five years in a particular organization, out of which almost 17% professionals were in the organization for not more than two years. The study also illustrates just 12 percent of employees who took the survey have served a single organization for more than 10 years. This is a drop of almost 50% in comparison to the numbers about a decade ago. The drastic change can be attributed to the fact that more than one-half of those who took the survey said that their short tenures were because they were seeking senior roles and at the same time 24% respondents cited to lack of progression in their present roles as the main culprit to their short tenure with the company. 18% professionals attributed their brief tenure to the necessity to learn new skills, and just 10% pointed to the prerequisite for higher remuneration.

  2. The study even bifurcated its finding by industry. While IT sector topped the list with 45% professionals preferring short tenure. BPO with 38%, ITes with 33%, and the Recruitment sector with 28%, followed IT industry to take second, third and fourth position respectively.

  3. The chief reason behind this trend is target-oriented profiles leading to higher stress levels. Because of this issue, companies have started to express concerns on the subject of the shortage of talent that could adversely affect their organizations overall growth. When asked to say a few on the finding of the study, one of the senior-most members of wisdomjobs.com stated, “Employees have always been the backbone of any business and companies always look to retain hard-working employees. However, the lure of growing and attaining success as soon as possible prompts professionals to seek change prematurely.” About Wisdomjobs.com Wisdom Jobs, which is part of Wisdom IT Services India Pvt.
