Test environment: Dell PC Acer 20” LCD display Nokia Monitor Test for Windows Cables: DVI cables by Lindy, http://www.lindy.com/ CAT 6 cables, manufactured in the Far East CAT 7 cables by Draka, http://www.drakamc.com/ Equalizer configurations: Cable equalizer by Gefen, based on the MAX3815 IC chip, (Maxim) Silicon Image 7161 receiver with built-in equalizing, (SiI) No equalizing. Direct connection from PC to display, (No eq.) Preliminary test case 1 results VTT - 15 Jun, 2006

Preliminary test case 2 results Test environment: • Dell PC • Acer 20” LCD display • Nokia Monitor Test for Windows Device under test: • Test board on loan from Silicon Image (CP7169 / CP7160 Starter Kit Board, SiI-SC-0098 Rev 1.1) Scope measurements • Scope: 20 Gsamples/second Agilent • Two differential probes; Tektronix 1.7 GHz probe and an Agilent 3.5 GHz probe • Cable length: a few meters VTT - 15 Jun, 2006

  11. Switch test results Tested first with a 12-meter cable • No errors 10-meter extension cable was added, providing a total of 22-meters • Very minor artifacts Conclusion • Attenuation is quite low VTT - 15 Jun, 2006
