  3. Required • Titman, Keown and Martin, Financial Management: Principles and Applications, 13th ed. Pearson. • Access to My Finance Lab • Section 1002: thistle05608 • Section 1003: thistle73815 • Department Approved Calculator: • Texas Instruments BA II Plus, BA II Plus Professional or HP 10BII. • I will use the TI calculator in class • Notebook and pen/pencil

  4. Homework and Exams • Homework: weekly • 10% of course grade • Exams: 3 midterms • 20% of course grade each • Final Exam • 30% of course grade • Comprehensive

  5. Exams • Exam 1: September 25 • Exam 2: October 30 • Exam 3: November 25 • Midterm dates are tentative • Exact dates at least one week in advance • Final: Monday, December 9 • Time TBA • Determined by Registrar, subject to change

  6. Grades • If Avg.  90%  A • If Avg.  80%  B • If Avg.  70%  C, etc. • Incomplete (I) according to UNLV policy • Not a substitute for poor grade • Last Day to Drop: November 1

My Finance Lab • All homework assignments will be in MFL • Register for • Section 1002: thistle05608 • Section 1003: thistle73815 • You will typically have 1 week to complete homework • Late homework will not be accepted • Quizzes will be available for additional practice • Quizzes will not count toward your course grade

  9. Tutoring • Tutors are available in BEH 531

  10. Misc. • You are responsible for everything that happens in class • Final is makeup for missed midterms

  11. Financial Calculator • Approved calculators are the TI and HP financial calculators • You must use an approved calculator on the exams • No other electronic devices are allowed during class or exams!

  12. Academic Honesty Policy • Department has ZERO TOLERANCE for academic dishonesty/misconduct • Cheating, plagiarism, etc. • Faculty are required to report all cases • Penalty: F, cannot retake for 1 year • 2 years if drop • 2nd time: F, no FIN for 2 years, can’t major

  13. Academic Honesty Policy • Read carefully • Sign and turn in • No grades returned w/o signed form • Must use approved calculator on exams • Use of any other electronic device is treated as academic dishonesty
