Our Website: Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent Talent Academy • Aims: • Engage with young people at the very beginning of their career and introduce them to new ideas and ways of working/earning qualifications. • The theme of the site is ‘Start your Professional Story in Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent’ and ‘Live, Learn & Work in Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent’ • To bring together information already out there onto one user-friendly platform and streamline our processes. • Design : colourful and interactive following feedback from task and finish groups and engagement with young people aged 11-18

  14. Our Website: New Horizons Hub • Aims: • The hub will offer a supportive service for all employees within the Health and Social Care in Staffordshire. We will be able to signpost individuals to provide advice and guidance to help them make the right decisions regarding learning, training and work. • It will also provide helpful guidance to managers with staff who have indicated they want to leave or are unhappy in their current role. • People external to these organisations will also be able to view what we offer our staff across the system. Cornerstone Employer • What is a Cornerstone Employer? • Employers invested in the successful and sustainable delivery of careers education for young people • Focused leadership group to support schools &colleges and young people in their area • Ensures all young people have opportunities and that they are prepared and inspired for the world of work • A coordinated approach to careers advice and guidance • Staffordshire has a new HUB and the STP will be a cornerstone employer representing H&SCare • Where are we now? • High vacancies • Skills gap • Future labour shortage • Need to inspire a younger workforce into the sector • Increase understanding of opportunities • Disjointed careers and linkages with schools • Need to inspire our future workforce in the most strategic and coordinated way to create the biggest impact • Benefits • Grow the future workforce supply • Increase knowledge of a complex system into young people. • Influence on the H&S careers advice to the benefit of the sector. • Increased knowledge & opportunities through teachers, students and parents. • Spread out resources in the most effective way to create a greater impact (no performance monitoring) • Partnership working across the system so that all parts of the sector are represented when interacting with groups that are within the scope of the HUB. • . We’re working with 40 schools in Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent and improving access to Work Experience

  17. Apprenticeship Levy Sharing • Following on the Workforce Think Tank, two key actions emerged: • 1. Create a short term action plan for the system to utilise Apprenticeship Levy due to be lost as soon as April 2019. • 2. Create a long term plan to increase the utilisation of apprenticeship levy and increase uptake to apprenticeships and awareness of apprenticeships within the sector. As of the 21st February 2019; 104 apprenticeships have been applied for with a total of £570,000 of levy funds requested to be shared.

National Recruitment Campaign Radio Evaluation Motivators Gloucestershire + Tyne & Wear TV Videos Social Media Communicators Hard to Reach Campaigns Pilots Research • Skills for Care & the STP hosted Department of Health & Social Care (DHSC) National Adult Social Care Recruitment Campaign Workshop on Monday 11th February. • Over 30 providers attended. • Attendees discussed 5 main topics from the DHSC National Recruitment Campaign Toolkit; Improving the Selection Process, Local PR, Improving Employee Referrals, Events and use of Social Media and Websites. Marketing Collaboration Toolkit Creative Imagery Free Promotion Posters Leaflets New Materials Tips & Ideas
