Previously, most of the AYUSH doctors were used to fill the health manpower gaps in rural areas. But, slowly the picture has changed. Now, the people living in cities are getting attracted to the Aayush Bharat Platform, as they have started realizing the benefits of Aayush and the ill effects of allopathic medicines. Aayush Bharat Aayush is now recognized as an effective and safer way of fighting various diseases. The demand for private BAMS graduates in urban areas has noticed a steep rise in recent times. They are being even
employed as a second-line workforce managing post-operative and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) works. BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, BSMS graduates are successfully running and practicing in their clinics offering various types of Ayurvedic treatments. The Indian government is taking stringent efforts and has developed policies aimed at bringing Ayush into a bio-medical framework of research. It has slowly started evolving into an officially recognized medical practice. From a single practitioner-based system primarily run by individual ‘vaidyas’, the Aayush Bharat Platform has ensured and developed a medical system that is backed by Indian law. Aayush Bharat is a mission that has enabled single practitioner home-based pharmacies to re-organize and convert them into bulk drug manufacturing companies. Commercial production of Ayurvedic medicines has been started in different parts of India and is even in high demand all over the world. Indian Government Support for Aayush India has given legal recognition to non-allopathic systems of medicine under the Aayush Bharat Platform. In the year 1964, it has also added a special Chapter IV-A under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940, thus making Aayush a recognized medical practice. Moreover, politically the Ayush system of medicines is receiving continuous support and has started statutory recognizing it for better public health. Various policies and investments have been made to help Aayush bring into the mainstream of health care facilities, and even benefit teachers, researchers, drug manufacturers, practitioners, and the end-users. Aayush Bharat Health Care Systems Aayush offers a holistic system of medical treatment. When used correctly and by qualified doctors, it brings relief without any side effects on the human body. Although Allopathy can provide quick relief, the Aayush system of medicines takes a little extra time and is tailored to meet the individual needs. Most people have little understanding of the benefits of Aayush and want quick results. This is why this medicine system failed to gain more popularity it deserved. But slowly things are changing. People are diverting towards this age-old practice as they now know about the after-effects of allopathic treatment. Moreover, many allopathic doctors have started including Ayurvedic medicines in their prescriptions. Aayush Bharat Healthcare Program Aayush is now an integral part of the healthcare system and the Indian ministry is working to integrate this practice with different systems and modern medicines. It is known as ‘cross-pathy’ treatment services. The government has even collaborated with the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research to set up a traditional knowledge library on the Indian system of medicines that includes Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, and Yoga, thus providing a means of preventing bio-piracy. The drugs used under this system of medical practices are safe and have no side effects on humans, and also are environmentally safe. It can be early to say that soon Aayush may take over Allopathy in the near future.
