  3. Introduction to Artificial intelligence • Artificial Intelligence- Simulation of human intelligence by machine. -The ability to solve problems -The ability to act rationally -The ability to act like humans • Coined by John McCarthy in 1956.

  4. Goals of artificial intelligence • Replicate human intelligence. • Solve knowledge -Intensive Task. • An intelligent connection of Perception and action. • Building machines which can perform tasks -proving a theorem’ -playing a chess -plan some surgical operations. • To develop algorithms that human use.

Current status/ Applications of ai • AI in Heavy Industry -Robots have become very common in many industries. -can do repetitive laborious tasks. -virtual assistant such as tesla has introduced teslabolt. • AI in Finance -Algorithmic trading -Market analysis & data mining -Personal finance -Portfolio management

Current status/ Applications of ai • AI in Education -Companies are creating robots to teach subjects. -Students can interact with educational material with help of voice assistant like Amazon Alexa , Google home etc • AI in Healthcare -can help doctors with diagnosis. -solving a variety of problems of patients, hospitals and healthcare industry overall.

  7. Current status/ Applications of ai • AI in Gaming -Machines can play strategic games like chess. -used in video games. AI characters like Crotona is used in halo video game series. • AI in Social Media -organising and managing mass amount of data. -used in content creation, advertising etc.

  8. Current status/ Applications of ai • AI for Goods -analyze satellite images to identify which areas have the highest poverty level. • AI in Aviation -Ticket price determination -Passenger Identification -Crew management - Gate Allocation for planes while landing

  9. Current status/ Applications of ai • AI in Astronomy -To solve complex universe problems, e.g. understanding the universe like how it works and origin etc, • AI in Robotics -General robots which can perform repetitive tasks. -Humanoid Robots-named Erica and Sophia

Advantages and disadvantages of artificial Intelligence Advantages • High accuracy with less error. • High- speed • Useful for risky areas -defusing a bomb -exploring oceans floors. • Digital assistant • -e-commerce • Useful as a public utility Disadvantages • High cost as it require lots of maintenance • No feelings and no emotions • Increase dependency on machine • Decrease in demand of human labour
