  1. Web Graphics Vs Print Graphics: Understanding The Difference When one is creating the graphics for your business, it is important for you to know the basic requirements for web-based graphic designing and print based graphic designing, and the differences between them. Even if you aren’t going to be the one doing the design, it is important for you to know these basic principles so that you can properly manage the one designing for print, creating graphics, uploading images on your website or uploading content for your social media. Here is a list below of the basic concepts and differences for the web graphics and the print graphics as noted byAustralia based graphic designerhere at Zurich: 1.Colors RGB stands for combination red, green and blue whereas CMYK stands for the combination of cyan, magenta, yellow and black. A print designer must be used to the four-color subtractive color made i.e. CMYK and in web-design, the three color additive color mode is used i.e. RGB. Which mode of design is going to be used, web or print, will determine which color combination you will use, RGB or CMYK. RGB colors are usually presented in two different ways. The first one is using three sets of values ranging from 0 to 255; these numbers refer to the value of red, green and blue light that is rendered on the screen. The second is with a 6 digit code also known as hexadecimal values or hex codes. When creating designs for print, it is a good idea to do a couple of test prints to make sure that the colors are matching up

  2. correctly to those on the screen because sometimes colors may print out darker than what they appear on the screen. Our Australia based graphic designers from Zurich are well aware of these differences. 2.Image Resolutions Just like different different coloring modes, there are two types of resolutions for images that are to be used in web graphic designing and for print graphic designing, those are DPI and PPI. DPI ( Dots per inch) is used for print while PPI (Pixels per inch) is used for graphics. It is so because the web-based graphics that will appear on the screen will need to be loaded onto a website and they can’t be very big files or they will slow down the loading time of the site for the users whereas print graphics and designs are typically much larger than their web based counterparts. 3.File Types When uploading an image on your website, using the JPG of the image is the best because it is a smaller file and won’t slow down your website optimization or the loading time of the site for the consumers visiting your site. One of the other options for your web graphics is to use a PNG on your website, as it is best for graphics that have transparency or fading, as well as images that are to be used like icons and illustrations. On the other hand, using a PDF file in print will give you a much better result than a JPG. It is so because PDFs will give you better quality in print and most of the time printers will ask for one anyway. Our Australia based graphic designers from Zurich always make sure to use the best options for both the web and print designing.
