  1. The Importance of Choosing The Right Auditorium Seating

  2. As the seating is a key feature in any venue with an auditorium the type and style of seating that is installed needs to be carefully considered. In venues such as theatres, cinemas and stadia the audience will spend the majority of their time sitting down so it is obviously very important that they are relaxed and comfortable with sufficient leg room and a clear view of the performance. The audience’s experience of a venue can be greatly influenced by how comfortable and user friendly they find the seating and this can affect how they rate the venue and whether they want to return in the future; thus having a direct impact on the establishment’s revenue. For universities or conference centres with lecture theatres the choice of seating is also very important.

  3. PLANNING THE LAYOUT OF AN AUDITORIUM For many venues seats equate to income and so maximising capacity is a key priority. However, planning the layout of seating in an auditorium is not always a simple task as the number of walkways and spacing of rows is subject to safety regulations. A reputable seating supplier will provide this service as standard at no extra cost. In the case of a new building the seating plan may be designed by an architect who specialises in venue design. Disabled access also needs to be considered and many venues opt for flexible or removable seating to accommodate wheelchair users.

  4. AUDITORIUM SEATING DESIGN AND STYLE The style, colour and quality of auditorium seating can greatly enhance a venue, reflect a certain style and image or promote an establishment’s corporate identity. Whilst red is traditionally used in theatres there is a wide array of colours and fabrics available and choosing a different colour can set a venue apart and give striking visual appeal. Many universities are moving away from dark colours for their lecture theatre seating and choosing bright and multi-coloured seating for a more vibrant and stimulating setting. When choosing seating for a venue it is important to consider all of these elements and work with a supplier who understands your requirements.
