  6. Home » Benefits of Yoga Benefits of Yoga Timetable & Booking Prices Introductory Offer £35 for 20 days Buy a gift voucher from £10 to £150 Media Articles Yoga offers a wealth of benefits physically, mentally and emotionally. Yoga can: Improve cardiovascular fitness Aid weight loss Strengthen and tone Improve flexibility and suppleness Improve posture Improve joint mobility and bone health Enhance the metabolism Reduce cortisol levels (the stress hormone) Strengthen the nervous system, reducing long-term stress levels Increase serotonin and dopamine Reduce blood pressure Lower the pulse rate Massage internal glands and organs of the body, to help prevent disease Improve circulation and lymphatic drainage, helping the body to flush out toxins from the system Hot Yoga offers additional benefits to traditional yoga: Detoxification: sweating on a regular basis allows the body to release toxins and waste from within providing room for vital nutrients and hydration. Be prepared to sweat in your hot yoga class! Healthy connective tissue: yoga opens the body’s connective tissue. Hot yoga enhances this process, allowing the body to stretch more fully, lubricate and renew, resulting in greater flexibility and energy Boosts immunity: viruses cannot survive in high temperatures, so increasing the body’s core temperature fights infections, which are pushed out through the sweat. Practicing hot yoga also increases the body’s production of white blood cells, which fight infection. Weight Loss: stretching deeper builds more muscle, which burns more fat. Hot yoga can result in weight loss. Diet also improves as the body craves healthier food when practicing regularly Stress release: the intense focus required in yoga helps to quieten the mind, resulting in greater focus, and clarity of thought. Working more deeply with the breath results in a more calm approach to life generally We recommend practicing 2-3 times per week, although maintaining a consistent practice will benefit you most in the long term, so come as often as you want to achieve this goal. It’s also great to explore different styles, because we believe one compliments another, and you’ll get a lot more out of your practice. Useful Stuff

We believe our highly qualified and carefully selected teachers are the best in London. Yoga can be very personal, so we advise that you try a few different classes and teachers to see which connect with you. Our Introductory Offer gives you a cost-effective way of finding what is best for you. Some generic descriptions are provided below; but check our teacher profiles for a more specific description of their influences – each teacher brings their own style and personality to each class. FLOW – a moderately paced flowing practice, linking one posture to the next through carefully curated sequencing to encourage a seamless and dance-like thread of movement. Not without challenge, sustaining a flow is a cardio workout, so even in the temperate room you’ll be sure to raise the heat. Flow classes will vary from teacher-to-teacher; see teacher bios to find out more about individual style. Open to beginners. HOT FLOW – ‘Flow’ but in the heat. Open to beginners. FLOW 2 – a more challenging version of ‘Flow’ with extra strength either coming from an increase in pace, longer holds, more intricate sequencing or the addition of advanced postures. Flow classes will vary from teacher-to-teacher; see teacher bios to find out more about individual style. HOT FLOW 2 – ‘Flow 2’ in the heat. ROCKET – rooted in the Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga practice, Rocket is as it says on the tin – full of power. Expect a fast-paced, challenging but playful flow incorporating inversions, arm balancing, backbends and standing postures. ROCKET L2 – rooted in the Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga practice, Rocket is as it says on the tin – full of power. Expect a fast-paced, challenging but playful flow incorporating inversions, arm balancing, backbends and standing postures. Rocket L2 is open to all apart from complete beginners. HOT ROCKET – ‘Rocket’ in the heat. DHARMA YOGA – a beautiful devotional practise that emphasises good health, a clear mind and a kind heart. The method weaves together many teachings in order to bring all students closer to the goal of Self-realization. This is an advanced class incorporating inversions, backbends and arm balancing postures.

  9. incorporating inversions, backbends and arm balancing postures. ASHTANGA – challenging in its nature, Ashtanga Yoga is a led dynamic practise comprised of a series of poses done in a set sequence. There are 6 series in total, the first one being the primary series, which is the one this class focuses on. ASHTANGA HALF AND HALF – A led Ashtanga vinyasa practice combining half primary with half secondary series, bringing a taste of the secondary benefits to those of you stuck on the funkier primary binds. Experience all the groundedness and hamstring stretch of primary, followed by the heart opening, backbending and twisting of secondary. This class is for all levels, as options will be given for the trickier postures, but some experience of dynamic vinyasa is advised. HOT ASHTANGA – ‘Ashtanga’ in the heat. MYSORE SELF PRACTICE – the Ashtanga primary series in a non-led environment. There is no need to be familiar with the series or Ashtanga, the teacher is there to teach you step by step how to self practice Ashtanga yoga. You can arrive anytime during the Mysore window (6.45-9.30am) and decide how long you practice for. Open to beginners. HOT MYSORE – Mysore in the heat HOT FORREST – focused on breath, alignment and building a strong core, Forrest Yoga is a strengthening practise that encourages you to honour your body. Expect long holds and fired up abs. Open to beginners. YIN – a restorative, floor-based practice to release, relax andretreat into yourself. Poses are held for 4 minutes at a time to aid improved flexibility and the release of tight muscles. Open to beginners. HOT YIN – Yin in the heat. YIN YANG – comprised of half dynamic flow and half Yin, this class is the best of both worlds. Expect to raise the heat in the first half and end with a grounding Yin sequence to unwind and release. FLOW + MEDITATION – a soft vinyasa flow practise in the heat, incorporating meditation to encourage stillness and calm in the body and mind. Suitable for those without a meditation practise. FLOW + PRANAYAMA – a flowing practise linking one posture to the next through carefully curated sequencing incorporating breathing exercises. QUANTUM YOGA – an organic blend of Vinyasa flow, Ayurveda and quantum physics (or, the basic insight that you manifest your reality). ACROYOGA – a practice that brings people together with the interplay of yoga, acrobatics and healing arts. The class can cover acrobatic principles, alignment techniques and strength elements to aid basic partner balancing and flying sequences. We will explore the abundant potential of physical collaboration whilst working in pairs or in small groups. Delve into the world of connection, trust and play. HANDSTANDS & INVERSIONS – a playful and fun workshop-style class incorporating clear demos and partner work to help you grasp the correct technique and alignment for poses such as handstands, headstand and forearm stand. You can come on your own and do not need to have an established inversion practise to attend. HOT BODY SCULPT – a dance inspired cardio workout in the heat incorporating strength and flexibility training. Open to beginners.
