  1. Workplace Injuries in Los Angeles - The Facts

  2. Workplace Injuries in Los Angeles: The Facts Workplace injuries continue to happen on a regular basis, the good news is that the most recent official figures showed a decline in the number of incidents. 2016 saw the lowest number of workplace injuries in California for almost a decade, with 3.7% of employees within the state having been injured at work, compared to 3.8% in 2015. These figures comprise reported injuries and illnesses of all levels of severity, including fatalities.

  3. The Facts On the Job Injury Attorney Los Angeleshas become aware of other workers compensation statistics: • 72% of those employees who reported having been injured at work hired a lawyer to handle their workers compensation case. Repetitive strain injury victims were most likely to work with an attorney (80%), with accident victims only choosing legal representation in 69% of cases. This may be attributed, at least in part, to the complexity of proving an RSI, whereas the accident victim need only evidence that the accident happened

  4. The Facts • The most common cause of workplace injury was one-time accidents, which resulted in 66% of the reported injuries. • Repetitive strain injuries accounted for 28% of workers compensation claims • 6% of respondents reported that their workers compensation claim had been due to a stress-related injury or illness

  5. Most Common Cause of Workplace Injuries When it comes to breaking down the type of one-off accidents, slip and fall accidents appear to be the single most common cause of workplace injuries, with the breakdown shown below: • 41% slip and fall accidents • 15% injuries caused by being struck by an object • 16% were involved in a car or machinery-related accident • 7% of injuries resulting from lifting • Other causes accounted for the remaining 21% of accidents
