  1. How To Clean Blinds

  2. Blinds as a window treatment add a modern touch to your windows. As a result, you’d want them to seem as good as new for as long as possible in order to keep their aesthetic appeal. • Keeping blinds clean, on the other hand, is a time-consuming process. Furthermore, window blindsare made from a variety of materials, each of which needs special care. • The cleaning is process is fairly simple. You will need the following simple tools and ingredients. • Microfiber Cloth, Clean Sock • White Vinegar, Baking Soda • Vacuum Cleaner with a Soft Brush Attachment • Dishwashing Liquid, Warm Water

  3. Kitchen roller blindsare especially prone to accumulate dust and grime. Nevertheless, you will observe that blinds on the street-facing windows will also accumulate dust at a much faster rate. • To clean plastic or metal blinds, make a solution in a bowl by mixing warm water and white vinegar in 50/50 proportion. Add very little amount of dishwashing soap. Dip a clean smooth cloth in this solution and wipe each slat. Let the blinds air dry or wipe slats with a dry cloth again. • You don’t always have to use a brand new clean cloth to wipe blind slats, rather utilize old and little worn-out socks. You can wear the old sock in your hand and dip it into your homemade cleaning solution, you are good to go. • Further, if blinds have become too dirty, then remove each slat. Dip these slates in a solution of warm water tub and a few drops of dishwashing liquid. But don’t forget to follow the cleaning instructions that you have received while purchasing blinds. After cleaning, remove blinds from water, dry them with a clean towel/cloth. However, you cannot submerge wooden blinds in warm water. Thus wooden blinds can be cleaned with the help of wood cleaners and micro-fiber cloth.

  4. Window blinds are frequently exposed to sunlight for extended periods of time. Sunlight causes blinds to lose their super white color and blinds turn a little yellow over time. Especially plastic, vinyl or venetian blindsturn yellow much faster. Not to worry, you can get rid of the yellow tones with simple home ingredients. • Take a tub filled with cold water. Further, add 2 to 3 cups of bleach to the water, mix well & use this liquid solution to clean the blinds. With the help of this solution, you can clean blinds, particularly with plastic slats. After treating with a bleach solution, air-dry your blinds. Also, while working with bleach solutions, make sure to follow all necessary safety precautions. • Wooden blinds, on the other hand, maybe revived with the aid of wooden polish. Otherwise, you can always paint your blinds in a color that complements your decor. • Nevertheless, regular cleaning is an effective method to improve the blind’s longevity.
