  2. Types of Partial Dentures A partial denture is a removable appliance with one or more artificial teeth and are used when you have missing teeth, maybe due to an accident, disease, or even a genetic issue. Partial dentures are used to replace missing teeth and attach to nearby teeth Partial Flexible Dentures Partial Metal Dentures Partial Acrylic Dentures

  3. Partial Flexible Dentures Flexible partial dentures are also as durable as the metal or acrylic dentures however they are often considered to be the most comfortable to wear. Some of the advantages is that they don’t require denture adhesive or metal clasps to hold them in place. Further the denture is made from thermoplastic nylon, which makes them very light and they are very appealing as the denture is almost invisible.

  4. Partial Metal Dentures Another option of partial dentures is to use a metal frame with acrylic teeth and gums. The frame also includes metal or plastic clasps or similar attachments that hold the denture in place. These are more expensive than partial acrylic dentures however much more affordable than implants retain overdentures. The advantage of metal dentures is that they are slimmer, stronger, and generally more long-lasting. You cannot see or feel the metal base.

  5. Partial Acrylic Dentures These dentures are the most economical of dentures however are generally only used when there is a chance of another tooth loss. A metal mesh insert or high impact acrylic can be used to increase the strength of them however they are normally not as durable, more prone to fracture, not as long lasting and require frequent relining They are also usually more bulky than flexible or metal appliances, however, they are easy to repair or reline..
