  1. Self-Care Advice for Working Women Women-owned businesses have increased by 60% nationwide since 2007. Additionally, there has been a significant shift in societal trust between women entrepreneurs and leaders. Whether women can succeed in the workforce no longer dominates the discussion. Today, I hear from women in the workplace questions about how to make the most of our skills and abilities, prioritize our careers, and maintain a healthy balance between taking care of our families, taking care of ourselves, and keeping our sanity. I worry more about my studies., Forbes says that living in an "always-on" culture can be bad for your physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Burnout, anxiety, and illnesses related to stress are all consequences of the relentless grind. We age faster, have a weaker immune system, and become more susceptible to colds. Quick fact: If you're exhausted and stressed out, you can't advance in your career. In honor of Women's History Month, here are some suggestions for improving your career through self-care practices. 1. "Stressful work environments can contribute to problems such as headaches, stomachaches, sleep disturbances, low temper, and difficulty concentrating," states the American Psychological Association. Anxiety, insomnia, high blood pressure, and a weak immune system are all symptoms of prolonged stress. It could be possible. I like to use my drive to get to work and back to relieve stress. I take advantage of the time as a mental break to gather my thoughts before proceeding with the next phase of my day. I use the 4-7-8 breathing exercises at my desk when I'm feeling stressed or overwhelmed during the workday:

  2. As in abdominal breathing exercises, place one hand on your stomach and the other on your chest to begin. From your belly, take a slow, deep breath and silently count to four as you inhale. Hold your breath and silently count from one to seven. Completely exhale while counting from one to eight. For a count of 8, try to get all the air out of your lungs. Until you feel more at ease, do this three to seven times. 2. Clear Your Workspace Although it may appear to be a minor chore, maintaining a clean workspace and home can have a significant impact on stress responses and productivity. In a study conducted at Harvard University, 100 undergraduates worked in either a spotlessly clean workplace or one that was littered with cups, piles of papers, and other clutter. The participants were then taken to a separate room where they had to solve a puzzle that had yet to be solved. One way to gauge a participant's response to increased stress is by having them persevere with a challenging task. The study came to the conclusion that a cluttered and disorganized workspace can decrease a person's persistence in completing tasks, lowering their productivity. The Wall Street Journal states that "women can be at a disadvantage when it comes to delegation." There were significant differences between men's and women's self-representations in five Columbia Business School studies. Women were found by researchers to: less representative than men and more likely to feel guilty about delegating tasks. When delegating tasks, they have brief, rambling conversations with their employees, whereas men spend more time making small talk. The findings demonstrated that women who do not delegate miss out on crucial opportunities to instruct and guide subordinates and lack time to consider the bigger picture. Conclusion: Remember to 3D-D-Stress, Declutter, and Delegate when implementing career-based self-care strategies!
