Chennai Mathematical Institute

The Chennai Mathematical Institute is a center of excellence for mathematical science education and research. It was established in 1989 as part of the SPIC Science Foundation and has been an independent institute since 1996. CMIu2019s mathematics and computer science research groups are among the best-known in the country. The Institute has produced an amazing number of PhD students. CMI initiated BSc and MSc programmes in Mathematics and allied areas in 1998 to bridge the gap between teaching and research in India.
