  1. Star Persona of ‘Balancing Act’ Doug, Vita, Bea, Caitlin

Story Line • We all discussed having a possible story line but decided that it would be better to have small snippets of a progression of a relationship from start, middle and end so that the audience get an idea of a story line rather than having it be the whole video. • The rest of the shots would be of the band playing their instruments and projection shots, paint shots – details to come

  3. Set up ideas • Band playing their instruments in the rain on a road or pavement and girl is watching maybe – straight leg jeans, white shirt, girl in black dress? • Band playing instruments in the studio – pitch black, then UV light with bright paint on them maybe paint on the drum so when it is hit it flies up, black jeans, black top • Maybe a gig set up with a few empty chairs and just the girl there – bit basic tho • Girl covering guy in green paint – possible green screen effect – also UV paint so we can switch from white background with lights to dark and just UV lights? – girl in more flowy dress so movement looks cool – maybe do that thing where the movement blurs – her in white dress, guys in black tops and blue jeans? Maybe we paint words on the jeans, or on her dress or something a bit arty • Maybe a living room set for relationship progression rather than bedroom? – for the coupleyshots – hugging her, laughing etc, argument shots and heartbreak? Shots – no lip synching, muted actual sound, -hugging laughing scene – girl in baggy PJ pants tartan looking ones either short or long and oversized tshirt, guy in chill clothes as well baggy pj pants and tshirt as well – contrasts to the outfits in the other scenes • Projection of girl over the band members? Projection of something – if projecting then dressed in white so the projection is clear But less dramatic Break up hug? But not naked Also an argument scene in the living room her dressed in jeans and chilled top, him in something similar

  4. Guy and girl but with handprints and smudges not splatters But a projection not drawing But with all yours projected on her But with the girl projected Break up – isolated, sad

Shot and editing ideas • Fish eye lens for various band shots – from high up • Close ups of band member faces and instruments • Wide shots of lead singer and girl on the sofa • Wide shots of band • Wide shot of paint covering part – mid and close up shots • Graphic match • Maybe camera into someone's mouth or eye and out another persons eye/mouth in a different set • Overlay some of the clips either so that it looks like 2 ppl or so one is slightly transparent • at start introduce instruments one at a time in different parts of the screen • Maybe draw some things that appear on screen? – like hunters son

  6. Mood boards • Vibe: Edgy, subtly sexual, rock, don't want cheesy, confident, they know what they're doing, romantic rock, don’t want to be recreating the vamps or shit, we want effortlessly sexy and hot, bad boy energy, cool girl with balance of femininity and grunge
