In Delta Airlines if there is a flight cancellation or significant delay, you will be rebooked on an alternative flight or your ticket will be converted to an eCredit for future Delta travel.   2. Cancel a Non-Refundable Ticket If you purchased a non-refundable ticket, in some cases, a cancellation fee will be deducted from the original cost of your flight. Any remaining value will be provided as an eCredit that can be used towards the purchase of another ticket. Some tickets, such as Basic Economy tickets, cannot be changed or canceled unless the ticket falls within the COVID-19 travel waivers or the 2021 Basic Economy Changeability Waiver.

  3. How to Cancel a Non-Refundable Ticket • Ensure you are canceling your ticket prior to departure. Tickets not changed or canceled prior to departure will have no remaining value. • Find Your Trip or Log In, and go to My Trips • Select the trip you need to cancel • Select ‘Cancel Flight’ button and follow the steps

No Cancellation Fee Cancellation fees are not applicable for the following tickets: • Delta tickets for travel within the U.S., Puerto Rico and USVI purchased after August 31, 2020 • Delta tickets for travel originating from North America to anywhere in the world (including flights operated by joint venture and codeshare partners) purchased after December 9, 2020 • Delta tickets for travel between the Caribbean and the U.S. or Mexico

Cancellation Fee If your ticket is not included in the No Cancellation Fees policy above, then Cancellation fees start at $200 depending on your itinerary (subject to change – the applicable fee is listed in the Fare Rules for your ticket), You will receive the remaining value of your ticket as an eCredit. The expiration date of your eCredit will depend on the terms of your original ticket and any applicable waivers.

How to Apply for a Refund for a Delta Canceled Flight If there is a flight cancellation or significant delay, you will be rebooked on an alternative flight or your ticket will be converted to an eCredit for future Delta travel. However, in some instances, you may be eligible to request a refund of any unused portion of your non-refundable ticket. Fill out the form to request a refund for an upcoming trip if Delta canceled or significantly delayed your flight, and you would like a refund to the original form of payment.
