Akhilesh Srivastava -Imbibing Technological Breakthrough in Highway Operations

Mr Akhilesh Srivastava, the CGM (IT & Highway operations) on NHAI, is the person behind the development of the national highways infrastructure in India. He will be participating in the 4th Annual roads and Highways event from the 9th–11th April 2018 that will be happening at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel in Singapore.

  1. Akhilesh Srivastava - Imbibing Technological Breakthrough in Highway Operations Technology has become the part and parcel of every person’s daily activities. Every single sector of government is imbibing technology in their operational needs. The national roads and highways sector has also been integrating technology in every single sector. Mr Akhilesh Srivastava, CGM (IT and Highway Operations) of NHAI is the primary contributor in this regard. He has been working day in and day out to ensure the upliftment of the technological aspect of the highway operations. The Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) recently awarded Mr Akhilesh Srivastava with the Lifetime Achievement Award in the Public Officer category in their 10th Annual Vishwakarma Awards. The event was held on March 07th 2018 at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi in two different sessions, morning and evening. This event is held every year to recognize the achievements and contribution made by the officials in the construction industry. Some of the recent contributions that bagged Mr Akhilesh Srivastava this award include that of the e-MB, e-Tender, implementation of the Wayside Amenities and the Electronic Toll Collection (ETC). He is currently working on ensuring the integration of at least one ETC lane in every toll plazas across the country. His contributions have created an impact on the smoother and effortless journey across the national highways in India. Presently, he is working on the integration of technology in the highway operations across the country. Some of the projects that he has been focusing on include that of the drones and geospatial technology for the real-time monitoring of the ongoing highway projects. His vision is to create an impactful system which will promote the concept of sustainability for a better tomorrow of the country. Mr Srivastava has also undertaken the projects concerning the Road Assets Management System (RAMS) and Traffic Incident Management System. Each of these project’s objectives is to ensure the overall development of the highway infrastructure around the country for a smoother and seamless commute. He has also been accredited with the implementation of the FASTags for a transparent and easy toll tax collection.

  2. Apart from his list of achievements, Mr Akhilesh Srivastava is also going to be part of the 4th Annual Roads and Highways summit, hosted by the International Road Federation of Geneva. The event gathers some of the brightest minds in the construction industry from around the world to discuss and brainstorm various aspects of roads and highway operations. Mr Srivastava has been cordially invited to the event which will be held at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel from April 9th – April 11th, 2018 at Singapore. He is going to be part of the esteemed panellists and share his views and thoughts on the topics of discussions. Apart from that same, he is set to deliver speeches concerning two different prospects in two-time slots on the first day of the event. He is going to speak about OBOR (One Belt One Road) along with two other speakers in the first time slot and will highlight distinguished points on Highway Modernisation for Greater Effectiveness and Sustainability. #AkhileshSrivastava #ETC #RAMS #WaysideAmenities
