  1. Call: +971-55-5182748 Network Cabling Installation Have you ever thought what goes around in the world of network cabling, what kind of cables exist and what are their functionalities? Making connections computer to computer, computer to peripherals seem to be complicated enough, but there are certain parameters which help us choose which cable is the right kind of cable during the network cabling installations. Let’s take a closer look. We have different kinds of network cables. Twisted pair cables Fiber Optic Cables Coaxial cables Patch Cables, depending on the requirement; we choose the right kind of cable. For example, for the patch cables, the ideal use is short distances, like within the office space, and whiles the coaxial or the twisted pair cables are used within a building. The fiber optic cables on the other hand are used for long distances and also when higher bandwidth is required. For connecting larger computer networks permanently, network cabling installation is a must that facilitates signals to travel from one node to another.

  2. Fiber Optic cables: Despite being a tad expensive as compared to the conventional cables, in a long run these cables prove to be quite efficient. These cables have a glass or a plastic fiber inside a plastic tube that is contained in a protective non-conducting tube. These glass or plastic fibers carry the light pulses from one end to the other end. There are basically three types of fiber optic cables – Single mode, multi-mode and the Plastic optical fiber (POF). Single mode: This kind of cable contains a single glass fiber with very narrow diameter running along the length of the cable. This is expensive as compared to the multi-mode, but has higher bandwidth, which means lot of data can be transferred. With the glass fiber itself being quite small in diameter, a light source of narrow spectrum can only pass through the fiber. However, the light pulses as they would be travelling across the single mode, do not get distorted and result in a clear signal. Therefore, these kinds of cables are ideal for longer distances. Multi-mode: Typically, two glass fibers are involved in this kind of cables. These are relatively less expensive and offer high bandwidth. As there are two glass fibers involved in the multi-mode fiber optic cable, there are two light waves passing through them and hence there is a chance of distortion of the signal by the end. Therefore, these kinds of cables can be used for relatively shorter distances. Plastic optical fiber: Here plastic is used instead of glass; however, the functionality is similar to that of the glass fiber. The pofs are used in shorter distances, nevertheless, they have their own advantages, like they can be bent and spliced more easily as compared to its glass counterparts. Co-axial cables: Coaxial cables as the name suggests has a conducting wire surround by an insulating tube, which is once again surrounded by a conducting tube and hence the term co-axis. This is in turn contained in a plastic tube. Applications of coaxial cables include computer network connections, cable television, digital audio are to name a few. Twisted pair cables: Two conducting wires of a same circuit are twisted together to cancel out the electromagnetic interference. The UTP (Unshielded twisted pair) cables are ideally used in the Ethernet LAN cabling and telecommunications cabling. The UTPs are usually used in the computer networking due to its lower cost as compared to the fiber-optic cables. Patch cables: Patch cables are short and not more than 2 meters most of the time. They are electric or optical cables used to connect and electronic or optical device for signal routing. These kinds of cables are usually used to connect different type of devices for example a switch to a router. These come in different colors. Its applications include microphone cables, headphone extension cables etcetera. Patch cables can be fiber optic cables or coaxial cables.
