In the past few weeks, the Delta variant of COVID-19 has rocked Hawaii with a dramatic increase in cases and hospitalizations. • The Delta variant’s ability to be transmissible to those who have been vaccinated, combined with the increase in tourism and relaxing of safety regulations, resulted in over 1,000 new cases being reported in just one day, a record-breaking high for Hawaii during the entire pandemic. • As the number of COVID cases continues to climb, and now that the vaccine doesn’t guarantee you safety from the Delta variant, demand for Corona virus Testing Kailua, Kapolei, and Pearl City is spiking for Urgent Care Hawaii.

As more and more people start to wonder if they should get tested, it’s important that we follow the CDC guidelines for who should get tested in the wake of the Delta variant. • Knowing these guidelines helps prioritize those who need to be tested, and keeps us from getting overwhelmed with people needing tests. • These guidelines also help keep everyone safe by setting safety guidelines in case of exposure. • People who have symptoms of COVID-19, or been exposed to someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19, should be tested.

If you ARE vaccinated, you should get tested 3-5 days after exposure, and wear a mask while in public indoors for 14 days or until a negative test result is received. • If you ARE NOT vaccinated, you should get tested and quarantine immediately if exposed; if negative, get tested again after 5-7 days after last exposure or immediately if symptoms develop during quarantine. • We at Urgent Care Hawaii understand how unsettling this situation is for us all. • It’s important to remember at this time that we have the power to overcome this rise in positive cases and COVID-19 as a whole.
