The main purpose of this registration is to provide benefits under various MSME schemes. UdyogAadhaar can also be used for opening bank accounts and availing loans, among other things. However, it's important to note that UdyogAadhaar will no longer be valid from 1st July 2022.

  4. Apply for your Udyam Registration after 1st July 2022 in order to keep availing benefits under MSME schemes. Udyam Registration is a universal registration for MSMEs. It will help you get a single entry point to apply for various government schemes, tax benefits and subsidies. It will also reduce the compliance burden of MSMEs by eliminating multiple registrations as well as multiple submissions of documents during the course of business. The primary aim is to simplify the registration process for MSMEs by having a single common portal across states and union territories where they can register online without physically visiting any office or agency at any stage during their entire life cycle from start-up to winding up of their business without any hassle or inconvenience.

However, it has certain shortcomings which make it difficult for businesses to register under this scheme. For example, many businesses in rural areas do not have access to internet or computers and hence cannot apply online. Also, there is no provision for companies which have already been registered under GST as they need not apply for UdyogAadhaar again. Hence, if you are an entrepreneur looking forward to applying for this scheme then we recommend that you do so on or after July 2021 so that your business does not lose out on the benefits associated with MSMEs like tax rebates etcetera.
