  1. Nasya: Why it is an Essential Daily Ritual | TRIVEDA Dina Charya (a daily routine) is one of the most important elements of Ayurvedic medicine and forms a crucial part of maintaining good health and well-being. Living an Ayurvedic lifestyle is all about creating a daily routine, where we intend to do the same things at the same time every day. This helps to keep our mind and body in co-ordination with our internal clock or circadian rhythm. What is Nasya According to Ayurveda the nasal cavity is the gateway to the brain, mind, consciousness, and Prana, the lifeforce which is carried to the body through the breath. Administration of herbs through the nasal passage is a potent way to improve the flow of Prana and treat any conditions that affect our mind and alter our consciousness. Our nasal cavities are in direct contact with pollutants and allergens every day, it’s the proliferation of these pathogens which Nasya treatment protects against. Cleansing and lubricating our nasal passages improve our immunity and enhances protection against transmission. Types of Nasya There are different types of Nasya for different purposes, blending different Ayurvedic herbs and oils to cleanse or be nutritive. Nasya can be self-administered as part of ‘Dina Charya’ or be administered under the guidance of a practitioner as a Panchakarma cleansing treatment. The role of Nasya as part of your daily routine, is to cleanse, moisturise, decongest, protect & strengthen our nasal mucous membranes to combat daily pathogens & improve immunity. Anu Tailam is the medicated oil for choice and safe to use every day. For Panchakarma, nasal administration of specific herbal oils, ghee & fine powders are chosen as part of a 5-day treatment to address imbalances & ailments related to any areas above the clavicle, including memory, our thoughts & emotions.
