Es wird abwechselnd vier Minuten Schach gespielt, dann zwei Minuten geboxt. Nun fand am 1. Oktober die erste Schachbox-Europameisterschaft in Berlin statt: Der Deutsche Andreas Dilschneider unterlag dem Bulgaren Tihomir Dovramadjiev. Dessen Kampfname ist Tigertad, er ist einer der weltweit besten Schnellschachspieler. So nahm das Ganze einen vergleichsweise friedlichen Ausgang.
