  1. Thermal Imaging For Rodent And Insect Detection If you think you may have any sort of an infestation then a great starting point would be to use our infrared thermographic services to help identify the possible infestation. This is an excellent solution prior to hiring an expensive exterminator. The cameras capture the heat given off by small mammals such as mice, rats, carpenter ants or even from a wasps nest. This of course can be used for both interior and exterior detection. Rodent and Insect Detection No matter how clean and careful you are, you can still fall victim and get infested with insects and rodents. A pest infestation could cause a lot of damage to your house, and it is a health hazard as well. Take for instance ants, they eat away any wooden item they can find. That could affect the structural integrity of your home. Needless to say you don’t want them getting into your clothing or bedroom for that matter. Pests are cheeky as well. They will always hide in the darkest corners of your home to ensure they don’t get discovered. You could be living with pests in your home for months and not realize it. As such, it is important to get your home inspected periodically, to ensure there are no pests hiding about. Infrared thermographic inspections are a great technology that we use to detect pests. 2. Infrared thermographic inspections can detect all kinds of pests, regardless of where they are hiding. The technology involves an infrared camera that captures any thermal infrared emissions. These emissions are caused by heat changes. Rats, mice, wasps, bees, and carpenter ants are some of the most notorious pests. We are going to explore how each of these pests is detected during an infrared thermographic inspection. Rats and Mice Rats and mice are both from the rodent family, and they are almost similar except that mice are generally smaller in size. An adult mouse is the size of a young rat. Both rodents adore any chance they can to get in and hide in your home. Apart from destroying anything that they come across in your home, rat and mice leave a trail of urine and feces. That will in turn leave a foul odor, and you could contract a slew of diseases from it. To make matters worse, these rodents will even bite you while you sleep. This too could cause a wide range of rodent-borne diseases. Rats and mice are warm-blooded. Their bodies emit a temperature and hence infrared radiation. Their infrared emissivity makes them easily detectable by an infrared thermographic imaging camera. The imaging camera is able to produce graphic images of the rodents when their Visit: www.thermoelite.ca

  3. hideouts are scanned. The inspections are best done during cold weather when the rodents are radiating a lot of heat due to the cold surroundings. Our infrared thermographic inspection specialists have experience in scanning rodent-infested homes. They know all the possible hideouts for rats and mice. The inspectors do not only scan to find where the rats and mice are, but they also scan the home for any damages they might have done. As mentioned above, rodents leave behind a trail of urine. The inspectors will map out this trail, to ensure every part of your home where the rats or mice have been, has been catered for. The rat urine makes that specific area wet or moist. The moist area will absorb more heat than the other areas, and it is easy to detect with the infrared thermographic imager. Structural damages caused by these rodents are detected in a similar fashion. If the rodents create a hole through a particular part, the air around the hole will have a different thermal emission than the surrounding area. It will appear as an unusual shape on the infrared thermographic imager. The main aim of the infrared thermographic inspection is to detect the rats or mice themselves, and any damages they might have left behind. It will be easier for you to exterminate the rodents when you know exactly where they are. You also need to know what sort of damages they’ve caused so that you can arrange for repairs. Our report after the inspection will map out for you all the spots that need attention. For More Info: https://thermoelite.ca/services/rodent-and-insect-detection/ Visit: www.thermoelite.ca
