2.The Lakota Language Consortium (LLC) supports revitalizing and preserving Laku021fu00f3tiyapiu2014the Lakota language. Its mission is to work to increase the total number of new speakers and provide resources which promote the use of the Lakota language in everyday life. LLC develops learning language materials and trains teachers to share language in Lakota communities. Since 2004, the nonprofitu2019s educational materials have assisted more than 20,000 students in learning the Lakota language.

Talented Executive Board Lakota Language Consortium (LLC) is a nonprofit organization with a talented executive board comprised of compassionate, determined contributors to the Lakota Language movement. For over two decades, Executive Director, Wil Meya, has advocated on a national level for endangered languages.

  3. Learning Language Materials LLC develops learning language materials and trains teachers to share language in Lakota communities. Since 2004, the nonprofit’s educational materials have assisted more than 20,000 students in learning the Lakota language.

  4. Teacher Training Programs The Lakota Language Consortium has developed teacher training programs which are instrumental in expanding the community’s capacity for advanced instruction in the Lakota language. With over 20,000 students reached across 60 schools, the consortium is intent on building community capacity through teacher training programs at three universities.

  5. Assisting Native Speakers Through its Native-led board, Lakota Language Consortium remains focused on assisting Native speakers in creating the educational materials that will make the language available to future generations.
