  2. Assess your data AI is data-driven, so before you start developing AI solutions, assess the quality and quantity of your data. If you don’t have the right data, you won’t be able to get the most out of AI.

  3. Identify your business goals What do you want to achieve with AI? Do you want to improve efficiency, increase revenue, or develop new products and services? First be clear on your business goals, then identify specific ways that AI can help you achieve them.

  4. Understand AI capabilities AI is a powerful tool, no doubt. But you have to understand its limitations. Not all problems can be solved with AI. Do some research to learn about the different types of AI and their capabilities and limitations. There are plenty of newsletters, YouTube videos and podcasts to start with. I am, of course, partial to mine—it’s called The Leading Edge.

  5. Develop an AI roadmap Once you know what you want to achieve with AI and you understand its capabilities, develop an AI roadmap. It should outline your AI goals, the steps you will take to achieve them, and the resources you will need.

  6. Get buy-in from stakeholders It is important to get buy-in from key stakeholders - from employees and investors, to customers and partners - before you implement your AI strategy. This will make sure everyone is on board with the changes that are coming.
