  1. IMPORTANCE OF OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY WHAT IS IT’S FUTURE?

  2. WHAT IS OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY? Oil and gas are the primary fuel sources and so they play a crucial role in the economy of the world. Hence oil and gas industries are one of the major industries. There are lot of complex process in the production and distribution of these fuel sources and are capital intensive and call for cutting-edge technologies. Oil and gas industry is divided in to three segments: • Upstream • Midstream • Downstream

  3. UPSTREAM • It is also called exploration and production (E&P) sector. • The initial stage of oil and gas production encompasses exploration, drilling, and extraction. • The exploration stage involves the search for hydrocarbons, which are the primary components of petroleum and natural gas. • To discover specific minerals and determine the amount of oil and gas reserves before drilling, land surveys are conducted.

  4. MIDSTREAM • This sector involves transportation, storage, and trading of crude oil, natural gas, and refined products. • Tankers and pipelines are the two main means of transporting crude oil in its unrefined state. • Petroleum products then transported from the refinery to market by tanker, truck, railroad car, or more pipelines.

  5. DOWNSTREAM • It involves conversion processes of oil and gas in to the finished product. • Downstream includes refining crude oil into gasoline, natural gas liquids, diesel, and various other energy sources. • This is the stage where profit is made between crude oil and refined products.

  6. FORMATION OF OIL AND GAS • First dead plants accumulate and form strata. • They then transform into rocks that have the potential to produce oil/natural gas. • Under conditions of high pressure and temperature, kerogen changes into oil and natural gas. • Oil and natural gas then accumulate.

  7. WHY OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY IS IMPORTANT ? Due to its widespread use and positive effects on the economy, the oil and gas industry is crucial. Oil and gas is not only limited to transport, heating and electricity. Uses of oil and gas: • They are widely used in pharmaceuticals, fertilizers, solvents and plastics. • Petroleum is also used as a raw material for plastics, polyurethane, solvents, and hundreds of other intermediate and end-user goods.

  8. SCOPE OF OIL AND GAS There are numerous career opportunities in the oil and gas industry due to the huge demand for these commodities. As a result, we can say that the oil and gas industry offers a wide variety of career pathways, each with unique benefits and challenges.
