  1. Impact of COVID-19 on Digital Media Consumption in India The ongoing pandemic situation has left the world population under the state of lockdown. Many of us are working remotely whereas there are still some professional sectors which have shut their operations completely. In this serious isolation phase, digital media is the only one we are all relied upon. Thus, this has increased the consumption of our digital media in our daily lives. This growth in the consumption rate is witnessed in India vividly. Visit here for more detailed info about ppc agency and ppc advertising companies. India, a country of a vast audience, is experiencing the 21 days long lockdown and, in this crucial situation, we are all connected closely through the digital media. Our consumption of digital media includes not just chatting on social media platforms but also, checking the E- News, checking out various shopping sites, reading E-books, Blogs, browsing Youtube for various vlogs and all the other activities that help us get through the day. Some reports claim that there is a 1.5 hours/ per day rise in the duration of the consumption of digital media in India. There is considerable growth in consumption from the 33-44 year age group.

  2. Well, we all are aware of how vigilant our parents are in their WhatsApp group. This vigilance in not just them but other age groups as well, has led to a remarkable increase in chatting on social media by 23% and browsing the social networking apps by 25%, which is expected to rise more in the coming weeks. Well, this lockdown phase has also given many of our secret acting talents a Tik Tok try and we all are finding our friends and networks making videos on the famous app. The news apps and the gaming apps world has experienced an increase in the user's time spent. Surprisingly, the consumption of non-English news apps has risen to 87% and about a 17% increase in the time spent. The gaming apps and sites are a source of entertainment for many gaming enthusiasts. However, there has been a downfall in the views and user browsing in the shopping apps, food apps, and travel company websites which we hope rises as soon after we all win the combat from COVID-19. As good as it may sound, this digital media consumption also has many drawbacks. With so many users connecting on social networking sites and spreading false news, sometimes, it leads to more chaos in the society. We must all have come across many negative comments, false interpretation of statements, malicious videos and many extremist posts on our social media accounts, WhatsApp groups, and news feed, but, it is our responsibility to report such content as "spam" and bring people into the light of ethical digital media norms. Digital media should be used for spreading important updates, news, and crucial information among people and not for any other malpractices. It is also our duty to extremely careful with the authenticity of the information that we are sharing on the internet. The digital world can be considered as a common ground where the world is connecting with each other amid this pandemic, so it is extremely necessary to use this common ground to support each other. The world is already in a state of crisis and this is the time we all stay ONE and together in this and avoid any kind of hate speech and hate comment on the digital world.
