ERP Implementation for Singapore-Based Printer Manufacturing Company Client Our client is a renowned printer manufacturing company based in Singapore, with its headquarters in Japan. The client faced challenges in managing multiple systems across various locations, leading to difficulties in consolidation and multi-currency reporting. Challenges
The company encountered several operational issues that needed to be addressed to improve efficiency and streamline processes. Key challenges included: Standardization Across Locations: The client needed to standardize business processes across subsidiaries to align with the headquarters' (HO) global rules and templates. Multi-Currency Reporting: Handling multi-currency reporting efficiently across regions. Overseas Commerce Documentation: Streamlining the documentation for direct delivery transactions, as most items were shipped directly from Japan’s headquarters to customers. Inventory Reconciliation: Separating warehouse operations between Singapore and Malaysia to simplify inventory management and reconciliation. Solution Provided To address these challenges, we provided a custom ERP solution that aligned the company's operations with its headquarters’ requirements. The solution included: ERP System Implementation: Developed a centralized ERP solution using Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 to consolidate business processes under the headquarters' general rules. Global Templates and Standards: Designed and implemented global templates, a unified Chart of Accounts (COA), and a standardized product code structure.
Improved Documentation Process: Optimized the documentation for direct delivery transactions, ensuring smoother operations in overseas commerce. Warehouse Segregation: Separated inventory operations for Singapore and Malaysia, making reconciliation easier and more efficient. Results The implementation of this solution delivered significant benefits to the company's overall operational process, including: Enhanced Financial and Procurement Integration: Headquarters achieved better consolidation of financials and procurement operations. Improved Automation: Automation of several business operations improved transaction control and reporting accuracy. Cost Savings: Increased logistical efficiency led to significant cost savings. Faster Reporting and Analysis: Enhanced internal reporting capabilities allowed quicker consolidation and better decision-making at the headquarters. Reduced Consultant Dependency: The solution reduced reliance on external consultants, ensuring smoother internal operations. Original Source
