Ten Tell-tale Signs a MAP Sensor Is Broken

The three most common signs of a faulty MAP sensor are the dashboard check engine light, poor fuel economy, and engine stalling. If your car is beginning to misfire and the check engine light has turned on, check MOT status of your car and have your mechanic fix the issue to avoid a failed MOT.

  1. Ten Tell-tale Signs a MAP Sensor Is Broken The MAP sensor will experience wear and tear and damage over time, just like every other sensor in your car, which could result in inaccurate data being sent to the engine management module. If these defective sensors cause the engine management light to illuminate, this can prevent the engine from working properly and result in a failed MOT test. To find out if a dashboard warning light was the cause of a previous MOT failing, check MOT history of your vehicle online.
