  1. Causes of Automatic Gearbox Grinding Noises One of the most common causes of automatic gearbox grinding noises is a low level of transmission fluid. Transmission fluid lubricates the moving parts within the gearbox, and without enough of it, the gears can grind against each other, causing a grinding noise. This can happen for a number of reasons, including a leak in the transmission system or neglecting to change the fluid at the recommended intervals. If you suspect low transmission fluid is the culprit, take your vehicle to a car garage in Reading to have it checked and topped up. Clutch problems can also cause grinding noises in the automatic gearbox. If the clutch is not engaging properly, it can cause the gears to grind against each other when shifting. This can happen if the clutch is worn or damaged, or if there is a problem with the hydraulic system that controls the clutch. If you suspect a problem with the clutch, take your vehicle to a garage in Reading to have it inspected.
