GI Malignancy: Absence of GI symptoms does not preclude the presence of gastric malignancy. The prescribing doctor should evaluate before initiating therapy. In case of long-term treatment with high dosage, monitoring of blood count and liver function is recommended. In case of long-standing ulcer disease, abrupt withdrawal after symptom relief should be avoided. Since famotidine blood levels are higher in patients with renal impairment than in patients with normal renal function, dosage adjustments are recommended in patients with renal impairment URL: URL: https://www.theswisspharmacy.com/product_info.php?info=p9835_Famotidine-Tablets.html https://www.theswisspharmacy.com/product_info.php?info=p9835_Famotidine-Tablets.html © The Swiss Pharmacy

  12. Facid Tablets (Generic Famotidine Tablets) Alcohol and Facid Tablets There is no evidence that drinking alcohol while taking Famotidine causes adverse effects. However, it may increase alcohol absorption, which could lead to heightened levels of intoxication. This will also cause irritation in your stomach and can increase the time it will take for ulcers to heal. For this reason, people may consider avoiding or limiting their alcohol intake while taking Facid Tablets (Generic Famotidine Tablets). 15. Facid Tablets (Generic Famotidine Tablets) Facid Tablets Overdosage The types of adverse reactions in overdosage of Famotidine (Facid tablets) are similar to the adverse reactions encountered with use of recommended dosages. In the event of overdosage, treatment should be symptomatic and supportive. Unabsorbed material should be removed from the gastrointestinal tract, the patient should be monitored, and supportive therapy should be employed. Due to low binding to plasma proteins, Famotidine is eliminated by hemodialysis. There is limited experience on the usefulness of hemodialysis as a treatment for Famotidine tablets overdosage. 16. Facid Tablets (Generic Famotidine Tablets) Facid Tablets During Pregnancy Facid (Generic Famotidine Tablets) has been classified by the US FDA as Pregnancy Category B. Reproductive studies performed in rats and rabbits at oral doses of up to 2000 and 500 mg/kg/day, respectively, have revealed no significant evidence of impaired fertility or harm to the fetus due to Famotidine. However sporadic abortions occurring only in some rabbits at oral doses of 250 times the usual human dose or higher were observed. There are, however, no adequate or well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Because animal reproductive studies are not always predictive of human response, this medication should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. 17. Facid Tablets (Generic Famotidine Tablets) Facid Tablets During Nursing Studies performed in lactating rats have shown that Famotidine (Facid tablets) is secreted into breast milk. Transient growth depression was observed in young rats suckling from mothers treated with maternotoxic doses of at least 600 times the usual human dose. Famotidine is detectable in human milk. Because of the potential for serious adverse reactions in nursing infants from Facid , a decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or discontinue Facid tablets , taking into account the importance of the medicine to the mother.
