  3. - Close up shot of the boy, connotes he is the main focus of the short film. - Connotes the boy is deep in thought, based on the title of the film, it makes us think he is in thought about his father. - Shows the characters emotions and set the scene and tone of the rest of the film. - Makes the audience feel sympathy and empathy for the character, makes the audience feel connected and feel with him throughout the film from the very start . First main meaning:

  4. - The denotation of this image is a boy looking in a box full of things - The conation of this image that the audience assume its a box full of his fathers belongings - This makes the audience feel that the boy has finally had the courage to look in the box of belongings, this also makes it feel like a key moment in the film as its a big thing to overcome and do once losing a loved one. - The house appears to be tidy which connotes that the boy is coping well with his loss. Second main meaning:

Third main meaning: • This image denotes that the boy is watching a film of man which makes the viewer think it is his father. • This over the shoulder camera angle makes the audience feel connected as they feel as though they are in the room watching it with the boy. • The conation could be that the man is dead and the boy is watching a clip of his dead father that left a message for him. • This makes the audience feel sympathy for the boy as it's an emotional clip that makes us think the boy is reminiscing and missing him.

  6. - The boys eye line is down which connotes that he is upset. - The background of the image is plain, which keeps they focus on the boy and nothing else. - The close up shot allows the audience to see his true and clear emotions and facial expressions - The up close angle makes the audience feel connected to him and his emotions and allows them to feel empathy - Because the close up shot is repeated from the start, it implies that after opening the box the boy feels no different at the start and the end of the clip.
