  1. What's so Great About Desi Cow Ghee?

  2. Ghee is said to be the best oil to cook with and it turns out there are many good reasons. • First of all, what is it? Ghee is clarified cultured butter. This means it is butter that has been separated out from yogurt/curd. It has then been cooked over a low-medium heat until the water has been evaporated out. During this process, the casein and the lactose have solidified & separated out of the pure milk fat. • Ghee also has a very high smoke point (482 °F), which makes it a very good cooking oil for all cooking styles. When an oil starts to smoke & burn, it releases free radicals–which damage cells.

  3. Ghee contain fat-soluble Vitamins • Adding a few servings of desi ghee into your day is an excellent way to squeeze in some extra fat-soluble vitamins. It can help boost your intake of vitamin A, vitamin E and vitamin K, all important nutrients that play a role in everything from maintaining healthy vision to keeping your skin glowing. • This can be especially important if you suffering from any conditions like Crohn’s disease or Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), as your body may have difficulty absorbing these fat-soluble vitamins. Desi cow ghee benefits your health by providing a boost of these nutrients to help you meet your daily needs.

  4. Ghee is used for skin and hair treatments, as well as in the eyes and nose • Ghee’s healthful nature also applies externally. Ghee is great for the skin because of its fatty acids, which help induce hydration to cells. Ghee is used on dry or rough hair and skin to help moisturize and deeply condition. • Using ghee in the nose in the form of nasal drops is called Nasya treatment and can help with conditions ranging from migraines and tension headaches to hearing and vision problems. Using ghee in the eyes, Netra Basti, cleanses and relaxes eyes, and helps tear ducts.

  5. There are several ways to use desi ghee when cooking. • Pouring melted ghee over popcorn or drizzling it over fresh steamed vegetables or corn on the cob. • Allowing desi ghee to harden at room temperature and spreading it over crackers or toast. • Adding ghee to cooking pans when scrambling eggs to prevent sticking. • Using desi cow ghee instead of butter for mashed potatoes and baked potatoes. • Drizzling cow ghee over vegetables before roasting for a caramelized texture.
