  1. How To Improve Sitting Tolerance For A Child With Autism? By Dr P. SumithaHemavathy (PT)

  2. Introduction Sitting Tolerance is an important thing that a child should follow while they are facing Autism. Here with this problem, a lot of children are facing. For that there are most of the therapy treatments and the parents are taken to the consultancy.

  3. To Improve this here are some tips:

  4. 1. Use low lighting and avoid Fluorescents Children hate heavy lighting which may irritate them to sit in one constant place. So they avoid sitting in that room and also a high fragrance also causes them to avoid sitting in one place. for that, we have to avoid both of them. Offering them a mouth-chewing toy which helps them to keep concentrating on chewing and also to fulfill their need for sensory input to them, and it helps us to communicate with them easily. Being Good with them helps to talk with them through gestures, and play with them. To change their mood swings we continuously change the ways to attract them.  2. Offering Mouth Chew Toy: 3. Be Good and Sensitive:

  5. 4. Playing with them: Play with them, like with Balls, Bubbles blowing, giving them puzzles, toys, etc. Through this, they can change their mood and start to keep interacting with us. A decorated room which is with impressive colours and toys set up may impress and start enjoying with that nature not only rooms we have to decorate their meals, plates, water bottles, hand keys, etc. to attract them. By playing a piece of soft and slow music the child starts to respond with cute eye contact and also they enjoy the music. 5. Decorating rooms and Food: 6. Playing a soft and slow music:

  6. 7. Motivating: Motivating a child may increase their enthusiasm and there they start doing that work very confidentially. 8. Avoid using the same kind of activity: Avoid the activities which we have done previously because their child needs different things not the same so they avoid the kind of activities. 9. Helping them to do Yoga: We help them to do yoga. Doing yoga increases blood pressure and it helps strengthen children’s growing bodies. Yoga teaches discipline and reduces impulsivity. Deep breathing helps your body, calms the human nerves, and also reduces stress and improves the attention of the child.
