  1. Importance of Crane Inspection OSHA mandates that all operational cranes be inspected once a year. Essential crane components wear out over time, whether a crane is used on a regular basis or not. This wear and tear will lead to a breakdown — or, even worse, a dangerous failure that places you, your team, or your business in trouble. Routine checks will assist in detecting possible concerns and fixing them before they become expensive or permanent. Employees will work knowing they are operating in a healthy environment and using equipment that has been inspected. Error thrives in the face of skepticism. Knowing that a crane is completely functioning and safe to use instills trust in the worker's abilities to use it. Although it may seem insignificant to go the extra mile to check cranes, due to the nature of crane use, no shortcuts can be taken. If an overhead crane fails during the lifting and transportation of a commodity or a heavy object, not only could the patented property be destroyed, resulting in expensive repairs, but there could also be significant injury or death. That is why overhead system repair and testing should not be taken lightly. Remember that there are several types of cranes and inspections like Mobile Crane Inspection or crane load testing may be necessary depending on the equipment in service.
