  1. What Is Sheet Metal Fabrications

  2. What Is Sheet Metal Fabrications To create a variety of components from thin metal sheets, manufacturers utilize a cold comprehensive working process, this process is known as sheet metal fabrication. There are many different material sheets are there to choose from which are finally used in the Sheet Metal fabrication of manufactured parts. The choice of which material to use mainly depends on the final implementation of the fabricated parts.

  3. Types Of Sheet Metal Material There are major types of sheet metal material, each with its own unique advantages: • Alloy steel • Stainless steel • Carbon steel • Tool steel • Galvanized steel • Aluminum • Copper/Brass

  4. Alloy steel Alloy Steel is steel that is alloyed with a variety of elements to enable a customizable set of properties. The main component in Alloy Steel material is carbon steel. Alloy steel is made of carbon, iron, and other elements such as chromium, copper, nickel, manganese, and silicon.

  5. Stainless steel Stainless steel is the most common metal used in the making of metal sheets, especially because It contains chromium, an element that is high resistance to atmospheric moisture. In other words, it confirms stability, even after being exposed to salt, Rain, Acid, and other similar elements. sheet metal fabrication is used from buildings, structures to kitchen sinks by increasing the lifespan of a product.

  6. Carbon steel In this sheet metal material, iron is alloyed with carbon, by providing a high amount of strength. A manufacturer can choose the desire application from which type of steel they want to use with a high level of carbon content, Medium or low.

  7. Tool steel Tool Steel is a family of alloy steel and Carbon having unique characteristics such as hardness, wear resistance to softening at elevated temperatures, and toughness, Its properties make this type of sheet metal ideal for making tools, such as punches, dies, blades, and hammers.

  8. Galvanized steel A coat of zinc is applied to iron or steel, this process of applying the protective coating is known as Galvanizing to prevent rusting due to corrosion. The most common method is hot-dip galvanizing, in which the parts are dipped in a bath of melted hot Zinc.

  9. Aluminum Aluminum has an excellent strength to weight ratio and it is resistant to natural corrosion. Aluminum sheet metal is a popular choice in the manufacturing and fabrication sectors meeting many application requirements. Aluminum is also strong which can undergo laser cutting, welding, and machining.

  10. COPPER/BRASS Copper and Brass are highly electrically conductive with no other additional metals. Copper sheets are popular and mostly used as conductors and they can be easily fabricated because of their high resistance against fatigue and corrosion which makes them stronger and durable.
