Menopause and Bone Density

Menopause, a natural biological process in women aged 45-55, is closely linked to bone density. The decline in estrogen levels during menopause leads to increased osteoclast activity, resulting in bone loss and decreased density, increasing the risk of osteoporosis. Risk factors for bone density loss include family history of osteoporosis, small frame or low body weight, sedentary lifestyle, poor nutrition, smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, certain medical conditions, early menopause, and low estrogen levels. Symptoms include back pain, fractures, weakness, fatigue, and staggering.
