Implementation l.jpg
Implementation

  • RFC2740 - OSPF for IPv6

  • A free, open source code from scratch

    • about 17,000 lines in C

  • A common platform : “Zebra”

    • Uses Zebra’s Library (tasking, timers, etc.)

    • Portability (tested on *BSD)

    • Configurable via Telnet

    • Routing info can be exchanged with other protocols (RIPng, BGP4+)

Functionality l.jpg
Functionality

  • Stability improved after IETF48

  • Supported

    • OSPF Backbone (0.0.0.0) routing

    • Route exchange with other protocols

  • Not yet supported

    • Area function

    • SNMP
