  3. How to generate income...?? What are my household available resources...?? Household resources are sometimes felt ( seen/ noticed) and unfelt need ( unseen/ not-noticed)

  4. Felt need/ noticed resource which is able to cater present market. Eg: Organic turmeric powder/ pickle • Unfelt need/ Un-noticed resource which is able to catermore market. Explore ....... Example: Natural Loofah from matured sponge gourd ( Bhulor Jim) Synthetic loofah

  5. Utilization of Household resources for income generation and Commercialization Usually treated as waste

  6. Utilization of waste material to income generations What are the possible use of matured sponge gourd ......?? ( Example) Possible products Body scrubber Utensil scrubber Pot holder seed

(LocalBogori) Jujube Tree Drying in sunlight Bogori powder • My two final products are • Bogori pickle • Bogori powder Marketing trend: Commercial pickle are more salty in taste. Locally made pickles are rarely available. If available most are without standard labeling and food standard mark like FSSAI or Veg/Non Veg etc Bogori Sweet / sour pickle • Points to remember • Recipe of any product must be standardized . • The taste, texture color and flavour must be same, whenever cooked. • Shelf life of the product must be tested and mentioned in labelling.

Present marketing trends and product demand • Survey and present customer demand/ requirement must be analysed first. • Example 1: Ready to eat breakfast cereals mixwill cater more market for working mother/person. • Time limitation and lots of household chores will unable her/him to cook healthy and nutritious breakfast • Example 2: Ready to wear washed clean cloths for new bornwill cater more market near hospitals. • As just after delivery a new born needs washed clean cloths but are not found. Cloths directly purchased from shop are treated with finishes and unhealthy for new borns

Product branding and commercialization A good product needs proper packaging, labelling and branding and lastly attractive advertisement Initially newly introduced product must be prepared in limited quantity and based on the market demand it will expandlater. Newly launched products must be launched with an offer price to attract more customer and sold at local market first. Off season food products creates more demand than seasonal food products like pickles and dried fruit candies

  12. Packaging Packaging of the product must be attractive, comfortable and according to the requirement of the product.

  13. Labelling of a food products & Standard • Labelling must includes the following: • Name of the product • Ingredient present • Nutritional fact, if any. • Preservative used • Date of manufacturing and expiry. • Weight of the product • Brand FSSAI/FPO. • How to cook ( Optional) • Veg / Non veg

  14. Advertisement Marketing • Local marketing • e-marketing. • Facebook page. • Online sale. • Print media • Social media • Customer feedback
