  1. What’s right for your skin - butters or creams? While some of us need to reach out for a moisturizer only during the winter months, some might need to have a moisturizer on their night stand throughout the year courtesy their all year around dry skin. Either way, there’s always this conundrum of whether one should go with a body butter for dry skin or just a regular lotion. For some, this is a very true issue throughout the year, so let’s breakdown which one’s going to prove to be a better match for your needs. Body butter and lotion, are both used by consumers to soften, smooth the texture of their skin, and sometimes even soothe their skin. As you may have noticed, body butter will usually be way thicker and even creamier than a run-off-the-mill body lotion for regular skin. Fats are the main component of skin moisturisers like body butters. Shea butter and cocoa butter are frequently the primary ingredient used by body butter manufacturers. Compared to body butters, body lotions contain way more water. It's an oil-in-water emulsion, which means that lotion producers mix oil with water. This helps hydrate your skin too. This procedure results in lightweight body lotions that are easier to apply than heavier body butters. One of the key distinctions between these two skincare products is that body butter has a much thicker consistency as opposed to regular body lotions since it contains more nourishing oils. Since they contain more water, lotions do not moisturize as much, but they distribute more easily, absorb more quickly, and are less likely to clog pores. Unlike lotions, body butters can possibly block pores, making them not the best choice for your face. Body butter formulas frequently comprise of shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil, etc. It is richer than regular light lotions and works especially well to moisturize dry skin and often even rougher skin, whether applied all over or only to troublesome areas like the elbows and knees. But if you are looking for an organic face cream to hydrate and moisturize your face then you are better off with a lighter option that doesn’t clog pores. Parched skin caused by the heat during the sweltering summers can benefit from a light layer of lotion containing soothing ingredients. And during the dryer and much harsh winters, a nourishing and healing body butter can be of better use. The best body cream for normal skin will often be formulated with actives and other beneficial ingredients that can assist in targeting issues like uneven skin patches and fine lines as well. A lot of perfumes these days have lotion counterparts too and these lotions are a great medium to amp up the longevity of your fav fragrance. In summation, body butters are ideal for people with extremely dry skin because they typically have a greasier texture and deeply nourish your skin. The skincare product you choose to use should be determined by your skin type. Body butters work better for people with comparatively drier skin than lotions, and lotions are relatively great for regular all year around hydration and moisturizing.
